No-frills theme for WordPress

This site uses the No-frills theme by Jess Kim. Refer to a related post for more information on how it all began. As of 18 September 2008, No-frills is one of the themes featured in the official WordPress Theme Directory, where it can be downloaded.

No-frills 2.0.10 (2009-07-02) (current production release available for download)

  • Visual refinements to accentuate minimalism
  • Removal of grey background; now just plain white
  • Fixed XHTML validation errors in the header.php script

No-frills 2.0.8 (2009-06-08)

  • Refinements to browse-by-category and browse-in-timeline links
  • Further refinements to CSS

No-frills 2.0.6 (2009-05-16)

  • Further customisation support: The background of the left column can now be either a grey gradient (default) or plain white.
  • Revised customisation tips

No-frills 2.0.5 (2009-05-14)

  • The width of the left column can now be adjusted.
  • Inclusion of readme.txt with customisation tips

No-frills 2.0.3 (2009-04-17)

  • Minor CSS changes for consistent application of fonts
  • Minor visual adjustments

No-frills 2.0.2 (2009-04-14)

  • No-frills now works with Internet Explorer 8 in native mode (as opposed to compatibility mode). The other browsers that have been tested are: Firefox 3.0.6, OmniWeb 5.9.2, Safari 3.2.1 for Mac, Safari 3.2.2 for Windows, and Internet Explorer 7.
  • The grey shade is now a little bit lighter.

No-frills 2.0.1 (2009-04-12)

  • Minor CSS changes for better readability and consistent line spacing
  • Default screen font set to Helvetica 12px
  • Default post content font set to Calibri 14px; it is now centrally managed in CSS

No-frills 2.0.0 (2009-04-10)

  • Major re-organisation and clean-up of CSS; as a result, CSS load overhead is about 40% lower than before
  • Change from centre-justified content and right sidebar to left-justified content and left sidebar
  • Introduction of a light grey shade on sidebar
  • Simplified colour scheme and re-introduction of orange hyperlinks (#cc3300)
  • Numerous other little changes that amount to more consistency and less clutter
